There are many types of flow measurement technologies and instruments, and the measurement objects are complex and diverse, which determines the complexity of the application technology of flow measurement instruments. It is very different from the application of traditional weighing and measuring instruments. It is not simply to install the flowmeter, open the meter and put it into operation to achieve the measurement purpose.

The goal of the research on the application technology of flow measuring instruments is to use them correctly, which mainly includes the following specific contents.

(1) Increase the open rate In the management of instrumentation equipment, increasing the open rate is to reduce the instruments that cannot be put into normal use.

The open meter rate is a comprehensive expression of the technical level of the instrument application and the quality of the instrument itself. The matching, coordination, and optimization of the measurement method and the instrument to the measurement object and the use environment, as well as the previous design, selection, installation and commissioning, are all important factors that affect the open meter rate.

(2) Guarantee measurement accuracy Flow measurement accuracy refers to the accuracy obtained by the flow measurement system, which is different from the accuracy of the flowmeter itself. Just because the flowmeter itself has good performance and high precision does not necessarily lead to high measurement precision.

To ensure the accuracy of the flow measurement system, in addition to reasonable selection, correct installation and commissioning, and timely maintenance and maintenance, it is also an effective method to use intelligent technology to properly compensate and correct the errors that may be introduced by the measurement part. method.

(3) Improving the reliability of the flow measurement system is mainly to improve the reliability of the instrument itself, and select a highly reliable instrument for reliability design. In recent years, the reliability of flow measuring instruments has been significantly improved, mainly in the following aspects.

① The reliability of the instrument itself has been significantly improved.

② Improve the reliability of the system by improving the structural design of the instrument. For example, the non-stop plug-in structure allows the flow meter to be replaced without affecting the process operation.

The clip-on structure of the ultrasonic flow sensor, the pressure-replacement structure of the electrode of the electromagnetic flow sensor, and the structure of the ultrasonic probe installed outside the tube of the vortex flow sensor can greatly shorten the repair time after the instrument is damaged.

③Introduce redundant technology. If dual sensors are used, and whether the sensor is normal or not is automatically judged, and the signal of the faulty channel is eliminated.

④ Introduce self-diagnosis technology, and send the diagnosis results to the operation station or special equipment management system (AMS) through the field bus for display and alarm, so as to find faults in time and take measures as soon as possible.

(4) Cost saving In addition to the instrument purchase fee, the cost mentioned here should also be included in the accessory purchase fee, installation and commissioning fee, operation fee, spare parts fee, maintenance and regular calibration (verification) fee, and the average life of the instrument The amortized depreciation charges are not negligible either.

Although the purchase cost of some types of flow meters is relatively low, auxiliary equipment such as upstream and downstream cut-off valves and bypass valves must be added, and sometimes the cost of auxiliary equipment greatly exceeds the purchase cost of the flow meter itself.

In the selection of instruments, one-sided pursuit of high performance and high accuracy should be avoided, because this will not only increase the purchase cost, but also often increase the cost of spare parts. The optimal design and type selection is the one with the highest reliability of the instrument, convenient maintenance and the lowest cost under the premise of meeting the requirements of use.

(5) Safety Some measured fluids are flammable and explosive media, and some instrument installation places are flammable and explosive places. The selection of instruments, system design and installation should comply with explosion-proof regulations.

In addition to the above-mentioned goals, other requirements for use should also be met, such as pressure loss requirements, hygiene requirements, protection requirements, etc. Attention should also be paid to the convenience of maintenance, and some should also consider the convenience of mandatory verification.
